EU condemns farm murders in South Africa

The Freedom Front Plus has with concern taken notice of the drastic increase in the number of farm attacks and farm murders since the beginning of this year. The South African government should therefore take serious note of the statement across party divisions in the European Parliament in which protest was registered against the unacceptable wave of farm murders which take place in South Africa.

..Robert Mugabe's actions, and some of the actions of the ANC are to me, tantamount to a DECLARATION OF WAR ON WHITE PEOPLE IN AFRICA. And you can go and look in Zimbabwe and you will see people from Robert Mugabe's party talking about "The Third Chimurenga" - which means a WAR.

..we are wasting our time by engaging the ANC and discussing anything with them. Their word has no value. Their words and assurances have as little value as those of Robert Mugabe.

Prioritise farm attacks, says union

Johannesburg - Farm attacks should be made a priority crime, commercial farmers' union TAU SA said on Wednesday.

"We need to confirm whether rural safety is really treated down at grassroot levels as a priority, because we don't get that impression," assistant general manager Chris van Zyl said in Pretoria.

He was speaking at a meeting organised by the union to discuss ways to curb farm murders.
